That's not very long. Not long enough for good quality gas to degrade. Assuming your tanks are clean and you got quality fuel lines and not cheap junk that degrades from gas, id be looking at where you filled up at.

Pete your experience has taught me one thing if I ever need to replace my Apu I will buy used Tri-Pak instead of trying to work around it

And that’s not to say I haven’t had my own issues my d2 heater quit working just at the end of last winter I let it go till October in the meantime September comes around and the circulation fan under the bunk for the AC went out drop off my truck at the local TK had them do a 6 mouth service on the apu replece the ac fan, fix d2 heater turned out to be fuel pump I had them go ahead and replace the screen and service the burn chamber in the d2 cost me about 1,100 in all in February d2 heater wouldn’t stay running drop by TK Tulsa they took me to the cleaners guy working on it spent more time dxxxing around then working-on it said fuel screen clogged up change for rebuild kit new exhaust hose, some other parts and changed the whole time the truck was in the bay for labor 3 1/2 hours if he spent 11/2 hr working on it I would be shocked they charged me $652 and 2 days 1,000 miles later heater still don’t work right talk about mad I figured out the combustion blower fan was going out and found a complete new replacement heater with the new fuel pump for $735 shipped Express had the old out and new in less than 45 minutes I plan on replacing the fan on the old one and swapping them back and forth as Repairs are need I believe I saw the fan for about $250 not sure

But between the cost of the apu and the money you've spent on repairs it's not saving much money. That's my biggest reason for not buying one. They save money if they don't break down. Seems it's about 50/50. About half the people have good luck with them and the other half are always having issues. $10-12k is too much for me to spend on that risk. But, that's just my opinion.

Don’t know about most people apu but this one was on the truck when I bought it the three years I’ve had it besides the issues I just went over the only other problem I have had was the alternator went out and it’s 6 years old now as for the ac Circulation fan it was almost expected since I run it constantly even in the winter while the heaters running helps keep the air circulating in the truck as for the D2 heater it’s a great heater and if I would have taken the time to check it out they are not hard to maintain and repair watch a guy on YouTube disassemble the whole thing in 20 minutes And there are other videos on repairs. I also wouldn’t buy a new one 10-12k but it is my understanding you can get a rebuilt one for 5-6k and I normally service mine twice a year myself unless I am feeling lazy want to pay the $100 an hour TK labor I am not much of a hangout in the truck stop guy so for me and my dog it’s worth the extra cost

P.S. I have sent more on this piece of sxxx DEF system in three years that I could almost buy 2 new APU’s

Wheel seal I had Arthurs fix during MATS is leaking again. Looks like I need to work on my truck before my vacation starts.

I bought a used carrier for my last truck. 6k installed but alternator and generator both died in first 6 months. Still way cheaper than new.

Bad thing about these newer trucks is that you almost need an apu or run the truck and risk messing up the def system
