Overall, is it better to pick your own loads from the load board or let the coordinator run you?

That depends on the choices that you make if you do it yourself, or how good of a coordinator you have and his/her ability to know the difference in a good lane versus a bad lane.

that's what I do, but I end up with more of my own. I use the coordinator, but I also beat the load board to death. I call it being proactive and just waiting completely on the coordinator. I am running 1 truck the coord may be doing 50.

I try to book my own as much as possible. with one exception, I rarely look at the load board when at home. just too much I'd rather be doing than refreshing the load board. and ya, it means I miss out on a few loads,

Man my backside hurts. Kenworth Chattanooga just charged me $424 to change that 4 inch hose between oil cooler and water pump!! I'm even walking with a limp!!

I usually get my own loads while home and let coordinator do his job to try to get a back haul.

I was quoted 1900 for parts thru fleetpride, I found some on ebay got next day shipped, then went straight to cat dealers and played one against the other for parts I was quoted, I finally ended up at 995.65 for all the parts worth a day of of my time to get that done. should be up and running by Friday morning.

Nice going!! I was under a load and leaking coolant so I didn't have that luxury. I shot them an email and we are close to making it better.
