Thank you that means something coming from someone successful. I know I could make money with a truck payment, I just like the idea of having a better start if that makes sense. Hopefully here in a month or two I'll be picking up my trailer and I'll have both before I even put it to work.

So I added my apu to the insurance.. but I don't understand it if my truck gets totaled they get a check first for whole value of truck and apu? Then I get what's left over?

The finance company gets first dibs on any insurance money. There won't be enough left to replace your truck with another cause the insurance company will only pay wholesale value.

Did the same thing with my 97 w900, the only previous owner/driver did motor, trans and both rears, all within the last 3 years then hit an elk with it and got pissed off and went local, bought a new hood and hoping she goes to paint next month when the state job I have been using it on is done, mercer already accepted my application though so I'm hoping to be over there by fall, just need to decide on a flat or step

You could do it mathemattically using pythagreans theorem like Razor suggested a while back, or measure diagonally from the kingpin to one of the front corners.

Basically it is the sqaure root of (48” squared plus the distance of your kingpin from the front of the trailer in inches squared).
