Mercer will take you with 5 years. I only had 3 when I came over, though 1 year was flatbed.

And like a lot of others have said in this thread, you'll wonder why you waited so long after finding Mercer to come over.

I work 5 12s and so does my wife, we don't have time for elbow grease. She gets moody after a few hours not being with her on the weekend lol

Well my 5 years are 2 running ammunition and explosives while I was in the army, and 3 running local tanker. None of which is OTR. My wife was a instructor at a college for a CDL class. And she has driven water bottle for 3 years since. Both spotless records. Neither of us have any OTR experience. At most some regional here and there.

And this is why i use a defensive driving strategy when picking a parking spot. If I'm forced to park at a truck stop its the back row only, and in a corner.

Obviously I'm not saying you did anything wrong here, just saying moving forward you may want to think about positioning yourself to lessen the chances of an idiot hitting you. Basically, be proactive. Expect stupid people to come along and do stupid things. Dont let stupid have the opportunity to strike.

I do this when I stop for my DOT at the TA in Dallas Pike, WV every day. And my truck has a oilfield bumper
And yes I wash, polish, and keep my company truck just as clean as if I owned it. I was always taught take pride in everything you do.

I think the down side to all this is my down time pay. They will prob only pay $100-150 a day which is about half a company driver makes a day lol
