Cutting wheels wont work with a random orbitor. That's a certain way to damage your truck. For bonnet polishing that will do great, but the cutting wheels no way. Completely different thing.

How hard is it to replace The Studs on the steer axle? One thread is messed up bad prob won't get it to go back on. the 3 had little damage to them

 

I was in the quarry 12 times Thursday, and twice Friday.The truck I drive is a few years old, and all the shine was gone from the aluminum years ago, so all I care about is a good spray down with acid every week. It's rained so much here there are large puddles to go through everywhere, plus the water truck making constant rounds to wet down the parts that are dry.

Then you add in all the tar on the wheels and tanks from the tack sprayed on the road before new asphalt is put down. Sometimes the tack truck driver gets carried away and the road looks like a black pond.

 

Remove the drum, beat the old stud out with a BFH, put the new stud in the now empty hole, thread on a new lug nut, then use the new lug nut to pull the stud in place. Just make sure the splines on the new lug are lined up with the splines in the hub.
