I Hate international air bags they are such crappy made.. They last just over a year and start leaking. I had a spare but cracked where the fitting goes.
Also found the cab bushings are bad i might do a video on replacing them though. Got each side for $66 ATRO bushing for that.

 

I had been thinking about trading in my Cascadia, but I just bought a new fridge because the old one crapped out. Gotta keep it now.

Anyone with a Cascadia doing OD? Do you have permanent mount beacons and where did you mount them? A picture is worth a thousand words?

 

Mirror brackets and up on the cab extenders are the most common spots.

 

Or you can take the hub off and get them pressed in

 

Screw that. Not only is that more work but then you need a wheel seal.

 

I don't know why it would be more work to do it correctly, do it how you want.

 

Using a lug nut to pull in a lug is absolutely doing it correctly. It applies just as much force as a press does to seat it properly. And doesn't require the additional time and cost of pulling the hub.

 

It pulls it on, instead of pressing it, and why would you need a new seal? Do it how ever you want he ask for an opinion and I gave him one, beat on it with a ####ing hammer I don't care.

 

I would pull the hub and have it pressed out/in myself. If you could get the old ones out without beating them out with a BFH it would be fine. I’m just not comfortable putting that much shock thru the hub and steering components.

 

The wheel seal goes in the hub where it slides over the axle end. Even us redneck shade tree mechanics won't risk reusing a wheel seal.

We ain't talking about swinging a ten pound sledge here. A 2lb or 3lb hammer provides plenty of force to tap out a lug stud. Your steering components take 10 times the shock force every time you drive across louisiana out cross a bridge that isn't level with the road.


Edit to add: befoe hub piloted wheels became common and everyone ran stud piloted, it was VERY
Common to break studs. No shop pulled the hub to press out a broken stud, they just grabbed a hammer and tapped them out.
