Before hub piloted wheels, if you replaced a full set of drive tires or trailer tires without breaking a stud, it was a very good day.

Yep. And how many tire shops pulled the hub to press out the stud when they broke one on your truck?

Set the studs on dry ice, they shrink just enough to pop right in with a couple small taps

So on a serious note i replaced my sleeper air bag last night. I only used a 2 ton floor jack and some wood. I Felt that the floor jack had a hard time supporting the weight of it.. Should i get a bigger floor jack? I gotta do same thing to front of truck when i replace my cab bushings...

I guess i never been to a good one then. And I'm not talking about junk truck stop shops either. But real shops with real mechanics.

A 2 ton is pretty small....But it woukd work, just block the cab up with wood so if the jack fails you don't loose an arm.
for lifting a cab i like to use a 10 ton hydralic portapower.

Has anyone here replaced the oil thermostat on an n14? I was looking at cummins insite online manual and its saying you gitta pull the turbo to get the oil cooler and filter housing off to access it. Looking at it i swear it looks like you can pull the cooler back far enough to get to the thermostat. Anyone done this with success or should i just resign myself to the fact I'm taking the whole right side of the engine off?

And why doesnt this #### break in December or January when its a cool 75 degrees? It always happens in June when its 105 in the shade and freight rates are on fire.
