Skateboardman, do I recall reading at one point that you have a lift axle on your trailer? If so, would you care to share your thoughts on the economics of it? I trust your numbers. Thanks.

LOl, kmx this was a post you made back in march . so you are still here? very surprising , funny thing, you still call us cheerleaders, kool aid drinkers and such , but yet it seems you took the very advice given many times in this thread, you stuck around long enough to learn the system.

although you still seem to be a unhappy person, must be your nature I guess. from your posts in march and then pooping all of a sudden, I would never in amillion years guessed you were still here.

I guess you read and took my advice. by the way , I am headed to tampa, maybe we can run into each other.

Skateboardman il admit things have gotten better.you have to get past that six month period to get to this point. But i will say the begining did suck. The revenue wasnt there and actually still isnt really that great theres just less deductions. Are they a bad co? No, not any worse than any others i would imagine.I really wouldnt know because i never worked for anyone but myself. They seem to be honest, il give them that. Would i run out and make a 12 to 15 hundred dollar a month truck pmt. NO absolutely not, your not gonna make it here unless you want to live in it. Still cant say i took home over 2000 grand for the week since ive ben here, grossed it yes definitely but never took it home but il survive. The system you speak of learning,il tell ya what ive learned do your own thing. Forget corodinaters, forget that numbers game, look at the board, call the agents yourself, get the load and your good, seems to be what works gor me so I still say this system you speak of learning really isnt that much of a system that you have to be here years to understand. But anyway my point is when i found this forum i was looking for someone to relate withand instead was told im a whiner and i piss money away on the road too stupid to learn the system live in the wrong place and on and on. So rather than berate people just be honest. Ya know hang in there it will get better. Definitely not going to get rich but hey no worse than anywhere else. So if anybody wants a down to earth practical opinon of it here ask me if ya want to get pumped full of koolaid, be told how stupid you are and mercers the next thing since sliced bread than ask skateboardman

yeah, jackleg the bbq picture was from the weekend.

and kmx , you posts says exactly what is in this thread. if you read my posts for what they actually say you would see that. you live in a tough area no matter what company you are with. given that you have , as we told you before, when ya go home , it is a given that when ya leave you might have to dh to get back in a lane. that's the nature of the beast with where you live.

if you have read and paid attention to my posts you would have seen I primarily find my loads myself, I also approve of every load, I don't allow anything booked without my approval.

and the system I am talking about is having some patience, learning where to go and not go, and learning how to use your board position to your advantage. I have ran by speedometer only 78,000 miles this year with 178,000 to the truck for those miles. my last 4 loads paid 1.95 on 1300 miles at 9,000 pounds. 2.30 a mile on 1289 miles at 8,412 pounds, 2.39 a mile at 15,000 on 889 miles and 2.74 a mile on 400 miles at 19,000 pounds , I had dh of 600 miles total on those loads the front axle aint been on the ground 7.3 miles to a gallon on the entire round , a c-15 cat by the way , no mods , just self control.

by using your board position and patience, if ya get in a top 5 board spot (or especially 1, 2, 3) don't be impatient and at 3 pm take whatever load is left on the board, spend the night and get a better one the next morning, in the long term it will work better for you. you have to develop a sense of how to get the loads you want booked ahead of time also, there is a technigue, for example youre headed into an area and there is a 2.50 cent a mile weighing 10,000 pounds running the board and you are in position 20 , everybody and his brother will be after that one, it simply aint going to get to you. but there sits a 2.25 a mile load with a 4 foot tarp weighing 20,000 pounds that can be picked like a ripe peach. you got to remember , sometimes a 4 foot tarp, hazmat, and twic can be your friend.

kmx7022 , the best advice I can give ya, is relax , get rid of that last chip on ya shoulder, and really listen to some of these other mercer drivers that's been around. you apparently have done some of that in the past few months or you wouldn't still be here, like I tell everyone, here at mercer , if the loads you are taking aren't working, go look in the mirror and talk to the guy that's taking those loads, hes the only one who can change things.

one thing many cant seem to grasp is there is a reason old dogs get to be old dogs, an old dog is usually a smart dog.
