Typical settlement - shows revenue x .75 and amount of FSC and accessorial charges. How is yours different, unless you did not get paid the amount you agreed to when you accepted the load? Always copy the load screen before you call on a load, and once dispatched. The two or three times in 9 years that a mistake has happened that has gotten things immediately resolved in my favor by truck pay.

That brings up the point of who cares about FSC, tarp charges and anything other than detention? If a load pays good enough to haul it the components do not matter, it is only the total revenue that matters.

and it is good you are looking at settlements, some drivers never look at them. Always check to see the amount matches what you expected, and that is why you need screen shots of the load before and after dispatch, I have seen that change several times. As a matter of principle if the rate goes down I will almost always get off the load, I am not going to be shown one rate then accept something different unless I have a compelling reason to do so like I need to get home, or it will screw up the following load that is paying really well.

At least you know that your attempting to get it versus relying on a freight agent here who more than likely could care less. They aren't getting anything out of it. My simple way of handling it is I'll give the shipper/reciever the benefit of the doubt the first time but on the 2nd try if I'm stuck sitting all day with them monkeying around , thats it that's all, wont be a third time.

Rstewart you have your authority now? I thought you leased onto another carrier?

 

That's true, I'm not at the mercy of an agent trying or not trying to get it.

No I don't have my authority. I rent another carrier's authority. I run as if I have my own numbers but this allows me to have cheaper liability and cargo insurance than getting it on my own and after a year I can go to the company I have my tractor insurance with and get liability and cargo for my own authority without paying new entrant rates. I like it much better than any other place I've been leased to. But that's just my opinion and what works best for me.

 

Why weren't you on the list if you had a load to pick up there? If I was home I would've come up and bought lunch.

 

Because the agent didn't put me on the list. Not sure why but yeah lol

 

The loaders at the base made tapping super easy. They pushed it against the trailer. I rolled the tarp onto the load from my trailer then they lifted it. Prob one of my best tarp jobs lol

 

Was it in a crate?

 

Yeah 6ft tall crate. Told me he doesn't care if it gets wet. It's to protect it from rocks and stuff.
