Skateboardman I truly laugh at most your post...I can see why mercer is a nice fit for you, I just think it's funny of all the mercer drivers I've talk to or loaded with you and about five others were happy. About a month ago I loaded with a guy out of Alabama he had been there two years and takes home around $1,500 a week after fuel and trailer note. What's funny is even after he told me he had been out for almost a month he was still happy with the money he was making.

I'm not on the same level as most guys that own there truck like I've said before I'm a true O/O, I stop by my customers to bring them donuts are football tickets (trust me it goes along way) yes it's been slow for me last month but I've been making $2,000 a week and haven't put fuel in my truck in two weeks I've drove 536 miles total in them two weeks. I haven't pulled a broker load in about a month and until they pay my price I won't.

It sure has been nice being home every night in fact next Wednesday I'll be headed to Florida with my mud trucks so anyone going down 10 will see me,I'm taking off a week and going to injoy myself!!!!

What ever Bayou. Did you jump back on here to brag that you got a good gid for a couple weeks? (Obvioulsy it dried up).
I'm sure most of us, can tell stories of different gigs that paid well.
Did you think maybe the Mercer driver wanted to be out the month? If you remember, here we pick our loads and where we want to go.
Maybe you should've been trying to figure out why he's so happy here at Mercer, like so many others including my self.

Oh, I know. He wouldn't share his koolaid. Don't let it bother you, some of us take our koolaid personally.[IMG]

bayou, its mighty funny you always seem to find ones something ro grip about or find someone who isn't happy , I guess its the old deal, flies are drawn to crap, you seem to attract the flies. figure that one out for yourself. I myself know a blowhard when I see one.

you continually try to compare apples to oranges, cut others down because they choose to lease to a company rather than have authority, if a man is perfectly happy doing 1500 a week after fuel and expenses, then that's his choice . if you are happy doing what you are doing, then fine for you.

however, you greatly remind me of someone who has many shortcomings in life who attack others to make themselves seem big. you are the guy who pees on commode lids in truckstops, its your way of getting back at the world. you don't go to the urinal because you don't want folks to risk folks seeing your shortcomings.

I can imagine the things he could say about me and Mercer consider I work couple weeks, then take a week or two off. I think last year I ran less than 70K.
But I'm very happy here and Mercer treats me fantastic. When I do go out, actually look forward to it like a vacation.

And I do share my koolaid but only with current mercer drivers.

So where you at this nice weekend? I'm sitting at home playing.

I am home also, got here Friday evening, youngest had friends over, went to her horse show yesterday, then she rode the horse here at the house, while they were at equestrian team practice this afternoon, I cooked dinner and had it waiting. and during that time I cleaned batt terminals, we ate and are going to rent a movie in a few. the way I got loads planned for next week, I should be back for next weekends horse shows sat and sun. we kart raced all over the country for 17 years with the boys, now its her turn with horses.

I actually work like I do so my kids have been able to do things, I never could. I worked second shift at a textile mill my last 2 years of high school so I had to quit school sports then. I left school at 3 and got to work at 3:15 off at 11:00 , when I graduated I worked first and second shift for a full year before I went into the military a year after high school.

my oldest daughter is a 14 year marine corps gunny sgt, the second does heating and air, the third one owns his own concrete plant, the fourth one is in the army reserve and also attends a military college scheduled to commission fall 2014t and is asst wrestling coach at the military schools high school, and my baby is in high school and just does her horse thing. she was my 40th birthday present . I got 3 grandkids 9,9 , and 6 months old, 2 horses, a mule, a poodle, and a cat.

I usually plan my hometime around big things the kids and grandkids have coming up. horse shows, dance recitals, military parades, birthday parties, school plays. sometimes I come by every weekends and other times when there is not an event happening that doesn't requires dad or grandpa"s presence I will stay out and run, in order to make other events.

old bayou is kinda of right about one thing, he is on a different level, albeit a lower level
