mercer transportation

Ill be at the collage in Austin monday morning. Then going to dallas to grab a load back to Ohio.

 

I couldn't find one that would hit my minimum that wasn't going to Florida and my coordinator said Florida was worse than Texas so ill spend the weekend at home and find something Monday.

I did have to pass on a load from Laredo to grapevine paying $5 something a mile, with the deadhead down I still would have made a little over $2 but I couldn't make the pickup time.

I'd have nightmares thinking about all that Traffic... LOL. They built that toll road around Austin I cant tell the difference, if it's been helping alleviate the congestion....

 

I pull a van also. Like I said, I didn't do great. I got $2 a mile out of Dallas going to KC. I'm home with it for the weekend. I make a drop in OKC Monday morning then final drop in KC. Quite a few loads like this down there and I was only looking for loads going to OK, KS, MO, or AR.

so I got a text just after 1pm that an agent called and I had a voicemail message. They were offering an emergency load the customer has to move regardless of cost, and the rate was better than fantastic. I would have dropped everything and headed out the door ASAP. Now, I had been at the computer with the phone next to me and the phone never rang, this happens at this house occasionally and it has done it for over fifteen years. Turns out the agent gave me first shot at this load, at 8.50 in the morning! I got the voicemail four hours later .... Thanks Verizon .....

p.s. This is a perfect example of a load that never hits the board, agent only wants someone they know to run it. Just like loads that say "Mercer drivers only, no broker trucks".

 

A friend of mine here got screwed by an agent yesterday...they had told him and another mercer driver that loads going to portland were ready to pick up friday and such..after delays at customer on friday agent tells them loads haven't made it across the border..oh well sorry you'll have to sit for the weekend...load paid over $2mi...agent knew that it was having problems crossing the border and didn't care to let anyone know early enough..

 

Did they make it so we can't buy store items anymore on our fuel cards? Bought oil and drinks and said our of balance. Almost 4k on the fuel card....
