Lets not forget to mention, this is going into the worst time of the year for flatbed, especially stepdecks.
Though Mercer now runs dry vans for ( ) drivers. LOL
I've heard they even lease purchase dry van trailers like they do the flats.

I wish i could do it myself. I don't have the patience or concentration to do it right lol. "ADHD". It's cheaper for me to pay someone to do right and not have to wonder if i missed something.

    Thank you sir, replied

That was my bad, what I meant to say was get that idea out of your head. So many people come in with a company driver mentallity that they have to stay moveing and it just isn't the case. I should have proof read that before i hit the post button.

Mine are 1.47 based on 2000 miles. That includes every thing from fuel, my salary, truck and trailer payments, tags, insurance, maintenance savings and a few other things I'm probably not thinking about right now. My salary just so happens to equal exactly what my house bills are. With more miles that number goes down and with less it goes up. Oh yeah and its based on working 42 weeks a year. So basically I have to run 84000 miles a year at 1.47 average all miles for that to work.

    rooster41 Thanks this.

My operatering cost run approx. .97 mile but that is break even and no pay to me. But then I don't have a payments either. Now if you count all the extras I like to put into my equipment like fass system, oil bypass filteration, oil prelube, trans rebuild, PP balancer and harmonic weight, ect. I'd probably be around $1.5 per mile. Oh lets not forget the 2 new leather seats last month but those were needed maintaince.

    rooster41 Thanks this.
