Appreciate it. I'll be fine. I'm just worried about them and want to help some. More than I can now while at Mercer. It's been a real hoot here that's for sure. The past few months have been a bit thin and now some truck trouble has really made the situation different. Hate to leave, but it's the right move I believe.
If anyone here is looking for some good equipment I'm likely going to be selling it all off. I know for sure everything in the trailer which is all my tarps (2 8' drops with flaps 27' long, 2 4' drops no flap 20' long, 1 smoke tarp and 3 10' x 12-14' felt pads), coil racks (around 16 or so), coil pads (lots), friction mats (pretty chewed up tho). Tarps are all in good shape, maybe a small hole from a bungee hook here and there, but I did roll the 8' drops out and patch them good around Christmas. 4' drops are in great shape. Not 100% sure about my chains, straps, binders and such. Might make a decent deal for all of it rack included for a new guy.Razorwyr Thanks this. -
I met buddy for lunch yesterday who's leased on here as well, he showed me the Facebook Mercer page... Jason put up a video on there talking about the freight slow down etc etc.
How come they dont email stuff like that to the contractors? Not everyone leased here does Facebook... I could be wrong but I'd bet more dont do FB that those that do....thaistick, roshea, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
My impression from Contractor Relations is that it is easier for them to put it out on there, especially since they took over the FB Mercer group some time back. But you're right, it alienates those who don't have FB or are not in the group. I deleted my FB some time last summer and was never a part of the FB group anyway, so I was one of those alienated souls lol. I usually ask my coordinator about news once or twice a month.

That is the ONLY sad thing about not being in that group... We don't get 90% of the info of whats going on

Anyone know a place near the yard that will install my Airtabs for me? I Don't got a ladder to install em myself with me.. Won't be going home for a bit...
-
I'm sure someone would let you use a ladder on the yard . or during the week when the warehouse is open theyve got ladders they use to install lettering on the new Van trailers, I'm sure they would let you pull in and use them..TruckerPete1990 Thanks this.

i didn't even think of the guys that letter the vans. Maybe i could bribe them just to do it

Pete.. I can tell you from experience that trying to be an owner operator at a company that has company trucks they will put the screws to you if it means putting a load on their truck and leaving you sitting they don't care... I came to Mercer from big Orange and I caught them removing loads from me to put on a company truck after I had booked the loads that's what these companies will do they don't care about screwing owner operators when they have their own trucks... Just telling you from experience so watch yourself.
sealevel, TruckerPete1990, mtoo and 1 other person Thank this. -
Contact Jason and offer that idea to him... I don't perceive him seeing it being A problem
