Got pulled around back at a TN scale yesterday for inspection. Officer asked for my log book before even asking for my license. Stuck my Omnitracs out the door and he looked at it and said "Oh, nevermind". Seemed a little odd to me at the time. But now I see there are folks having issues with the JJK logs and it makes sense. TNDOT is probably very aware of those issues and dude thought he had an easy mark.

That's on them. I'm on JJK, have been for 4 years. I have 0 log violations in those 4 years. If it dies, simply plug it in. When you turn it on and log back in it reads the ECM and updates your log to current. The only way to not be current is intentionally running with it off

It's on Mercer as well. And frankly anyone leased on here because it just adds to the already bad safety score that affects all drivers here. I'd bet the excuse of "my phone is dead, my phone is this, my phone is that etc etc has been used way to much causing unnecessary log violations.

Wouldn't doubt it, and not saying it doesnt affect everyone. I was stating that's the individual driver's fault.

Using the excuse that It die is pathetic all they have to do is keep the device plugged in and it'll run all day long... Just pure laziness

I bought a 7" tablet and sticky suction mount for a dedicated logging device.... its constantly plugged in. Have had several inspections over the last several years here, never a problem nor violation.
I don't think I'll be paying $500+ and $45/mo for an Qualcom, but I guess I got a few months to decide...

I Do feel we should have the option of removing the useless crap that added to the bill.. Would be nice if Mercer gave us away for them to pay for it. like no tickets / violations or something along those lines...

It’s just a cost of doing business no different than having a pre pass, or EZ pass, and the odds are if another company is covering the cost they are getting it other ways

RStewart, Rickp, drvrtech77 and 2 others Thank this.
