Can't what? Talk to someone about something other than their financials? I can but alot of you can't. You have to degrade people but I guess that is the only reason you can feel good about yourself.

No not really. Just arrogance.

 

It's pretty simple really. Checks come in, bills get paid, I get paid, money gets split into a couple savings account for various reasons and then there's money left over.

If there's enough to money to go into each category, then I've made money. If there's some left over the company has made money also. Don't need to worry about cost per mile and rate per mile.

 

How can any business regardless if its trucking, not have to worry about the costs of running the operation?

You need to know what your costs are to determine what your profit margin is going to be to have a successful business.

Not just pull a random number out of your rear end hoping when it's all said and done you show a profit.

CPM and RPM are absolutely something any owner operator out here needs to know very well.
