Nah. Youre good. Vans comment might be right if you were talking specific lanes or product but you aren't. You are talking general truck markets which effects all carriers equally

Well I spent 30 seconds of my life looking up the actual safety numbers and they do not reflect your opinion:
SAFER Web - Company Snapshot MERCER TRANSPORTATION CO INC
As of today, May 11, 2019 the only inspection type that is above the national average is for Hazmat, and that by .1% (4.6% vs 4.5%). Vehicle and driver inspection pass rates, especially the latter, are above average. Overall, the safety rating found at the bottom of the page is satisfactory. UPS Freight and FEDEX freight have somewhat better numbers and their safety rating is also listed as satisfactory, leading me to believe Mercer is considered to be roughly comparable. -
Actually @drvrtech77 is right the safety score here does suck. Just because its below the national average doesn't mean its necessarily good, that just means theres lots of companies out here that are worse.
Every inspection I've been pulled in for the officer has told me it's because the safety score here isn't good. Up in the 90 range with 100 being the absolute worst....
If you want to see a good score look up Wal-Mart or UPS parcel two companies who actually have hiring standards, both scores reflect just that.drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
everyone gets satisfactory unless they get really high then they get a review.. Mercer score is pretty high 17% Vehicle OOS? thats high... Hazmat 4.6% is really high. Also mercer recently had a Compliance review last year.JonJon78 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

By numbers come directly from the safety department.. They've told me exactly why the numbers are so high and it's directly related to lazy bum drivers that's why.... A lot of speeding tickets and a lot of vehicle maintenance issues to things that are a 100% preventable simply by doing their job right..JonJon78 Thanks this.

I'm certain the safety department at Mercer would prefer the stats to be lower... who wouldn't? I'm simply pointing out that according to the government stats their score is in the same category as Fedex, WalMart, UPS, etc. Speaking only for myself, my prepass shows green at almost every scale that isn't bringing in everyone which wouldn't be the case if we were on a watch list.
As far as speeding or other tickets go, its on Mercer if they accept someone with them or keep them on after they've been ticketed. I guarantee they didn't let 116 drivers go last month (or whatever the number was) for tickets. -
Every now and then I get a few days where I get red lighted at most weigh stations, but overall, I get way more green lights than red lights as well. Oddly enough, I do seem to get the red light more when I'm empty than loaded. I wonder if it's because they think I'm missing the scales since the number is low and they just want to double check.

99% of the time I get a red light if a scale is open. I must be some kind of desperado lol.
JonJon78 Thanks this. -
I'm simply stating the fact that the ones that are Consistently screwing up and ruining the safety score for everybody else they should be warned And if they still don't comply and depending on their record here that enough get rid of them....
