You find it most common with big manufacturers, like steel mills and building supply companies like owens corning.
Fyi, the chi agent owns that bat agency so if you have a problem wth three was bat does things you will have the same problem with the way chi does things. Dave is one of my favorite agents but i double check the mileages of its one of his big customers before accepting the load.

I could understand a couple dollars change from FSC, and weight doesn't factor on this one. This was a significant amount, enough that I wouldn't have even considered booking the load for what I'm getting now.

Seems like Mercer is hard at work attempting to piss everyone off.

Why i hate dealers: i was greasing my truck and going over it in preparation of my annual mercer dot inspection. My steer axle brakes are starting to get some rust jacking. No big deal, not bad enough to fail but some days those guys in Louisville can be real picky so im gonna go ahead and replace them. 51.48 for shoes and spring kit per side and takes longer to go to the parts store than it does to change them. I've also been having trouble tracking down a pretty good oil leak, about a gallon every 7k miles. For an engine with a lot of miles that's almost normal consumption but it makes a freaking mess and if you don't hit the truck wash regularly the build up makes it look like its pouring oil out. I pressurized the system to 10 lbs soak the engine with soapy water and look for bubbles. There it is, the oil pressure sensor is bubbling. Unfortunately the only one in my area that stocks Cummins parts is peterbilt. 202 dollars. These people are insane. Its the same freaking part # on darn near every cummins engine made in 30 years. Including the dodge ram pick up truck. 25 bucks at any autozone/advance/oreilly's. I like sticking with oem as much as the next guy but for a price difference of nearly one thousand percent they can kiss my ###!

Did you catch it before loading? Did something change on the load like tarp becoming no tarp or extra stops removed? The destination change to make it less miles?

Once a load is assigned a trip number every change to that load is logged in the system and almost everyone in Louisville can access that log of changes.

I haven't been pissed off in so long, I don't even remember what it feels like. Wife says I used to get P.O. every day.

Trucking life, is just trucking life. It took me 2 years after I sold out, to get comfortable in my new life.

You guys know you work hard and are under a lot of stress every day. It's been 3 years now, since I retired. I always thought I handled that stress well, but looking back at a lifetime of trucking, I see it took a heavy toll on me.

Don't get me wrong: I absolutely loved trucking and it was financially good to me. I just want you guys to take care of your physical and mental health. Looking backwards, I wasn't doing as good a job as I thought I was.

I'm well aware that CHI owns them. I'm not a big fan of Dave or Brian... That's just me. I've been told by more than one person who works in Louisville that if you have a problem with those offices you can expect Mercer to not due anything about it in fear of them leaving here.

90% of Dave's loads are crap. Let the flip floppers in Chicago have them, I'm sure that's who does most of his loads anyhow.

I booked the load Thursday. Didn't see the change until last night. Nothing changed on the load, except the rate. My coordinator said he didn't see where anything had been changed, and he checked with the agent as well.

It loaded today and there was nothing else, especially headed the direction I absolutely have to go.

Just so nobody misunderstands, there are no accusations being made here. I have no proof whatsoever in this case.

The first time it happened, the agents office tried to blow me off. Friday afternoon and he went home early, someone else telling me to call back Monday. This happened while I'm sitting at the shipper, so I told them not to load.

Called my coordinator and started to get a bit of a run around. Until I told him I had screenshots and wasn't going to load until it was fixed. Within 5 minutes the money was back on the load.
