I will say this much...I've been here 2 yrs and overall it's been great but for the life of me why do some want to go after folks who post any kind of issues going on...doing so really makes no sense whatsoever...there are numerous customers who we don't pick up from anymore for whatever reason that gave us steady flatbed freight...many too for nearly a year...i think one aspect is the safety score sucks and frankly those fools who are causing it to be that bad because of ignorance should be canned..

 

Then don't complain when something changes and you don't have proof. You made the decision not to protect yourself.

Maybe we shouldn't have to do that but life isn't perfect. Better to take the 3 seconds to protect yourself. Mercer was a good company when I was there but I didn't trust them with my money. I don't trust anyone with my money. Maybe that's why this never happened to me. IDK...

 

Where you coming from and why are you leaving, plan on pulling van or flat?
I started at the beginning of February 2017, freight and rates were in the tank, similar to now, but I didn't know Mercer's system or lanes, and I was extremely frustrated for a couple months, but my truck was paid for and I had very few outside debts and I worked through it.
It will take you sometime to learn the system, lanes, agents, your coordinator and it's a down market right now....you are starting with deck stacked against you....up for a challenge?

 

Where is anyone attacking or going after anyone else? We just stated we are fine with some people leaving who aren't happy because we are and that means less competition

Known for years that I need too work for myself, just a little slow getting there.

 

On vacation until the 28th... My bud just called me and i guess they changed over from aobdr to eld. He moved from his parking space to the fuel pump and was put on the driving line.

I'm simply saying that mercer is losing a lot of freight for whatever reason..im extremely observant of everything going on...it could also have to do with a lousy safety score...customers look at that too....maybe getting rid of some of these folks who continously get dot violations and and or speeding tickets..that's what I've been told is the biggest reason the score sucks...a lot of customers we used to haul for regularly haven't been on the board for months and months.....this is what im saying...the freight isn't there anymore...i dont expect it to be like a year ago at this time but what has happened since August is disgusting...

 

Thats what ELD does. soon as u move it kicks u on driving.

 

Mine hasnt changed. Was stuck in traffic today creeping along for nearly an hr and didnt switch to drive.
