Probably a lot of Truth here. One thing for certain, the easier it is to get started on business it is easier to go out of business. It's very easy to get a truck now days and get started. I bet 80% that get a truck are not really prepared to have their own truck. But the flip side is it's a good thing they've made it easy because there's quite a few that got a truck really easy and are smart enough to have success.

    I think it's higher than 80%. Probably 95 to 99%

The public boards have way more freight then Mercer's board, I've seen it. The comparison is laughable

The rates might not be there like they were, but it's still lots of loads out there.. That your don't have to deadhead your truck into the ground to get to

They sent out an email within the past month indicating that the fee for Mercer to contractor loans has increased... I'm guessing with the lack of freight here the increase in broke drivers that cant afford truck repairs has sky rocketed and Mercer has been loaning lots of dough out....

The day I need a loan to fix my truck is the day I go back to being a company driver.

Yup if all these drivers are driving fleet owners truck when they break down or have to borrow money from Mercer when they breakdown there's a serious problem there. Don't care what nobody say.. Most of these guys live week to week here but still carry the Mercer flag like it's life or death lol I don't get it
