So Freightliner just called....said my cam covers were leaking, not the oil pan. Wth is a cam cover?
-
Well took 7 hours but got it off. Receiver said he was called by agent but was just asked what hours he unloads not that I was going to be there today. I asked agent about it and she said yes I called them and said you were loaded and asked for receiving hours. I think this one might have been miscommunication but I got my next load so no harm done. But hopefully get some decent detention pay

Just talked to my mechanic....
He said that when they pulled the cam gear, the gear came out and rebounded back into the rear cam cover, cracking it. He said that the detroit service manual says to take them out or you will crack them.
FYDA in ohio said they never touched them, therefore they werent gonna cover the repair. BS....oh yes they will.
Stay tuned for more adventures -
Don't understand why they would pull the cam gear to fix a leak on the cam cover or are they pulling the whole front cover off cause that a 5K job
-
It's the cover on the front and rear of the camshaft. The rear one is prone to cracking so always take it off when doing any work with the cam.

Read back about 3 or 4 pages as to whats going on with my truck
-
Youngstown says they never touched or removed anything on the rear of the engine

Doesn't sound good...
