Only hang up I have is I leave the northeast and want to return to the northeast, shouldn't be that hard to do. Most of the hero's out here are afraid to go there from the conversations I hear. And as far as the dead heading issue, believe me I do enough of that

Do you have hazmat and willing to tarp 48k lbs? If so getting out of the northeast for a decent rate is easy to do 5 days a weekroshea Thanks this.

Tarping isn't a problem but I don't have hazmat.

Nope. No. Nopity. Nope.
Just because it's in print doesn't make it true. -

[QUOTE="TruckerPete1990, post: 9629106, member: 90363"Plus that's just asking for trouble saying hey mr EPA come and look at my non compliance truck lol[/QUOTE]
Just dont go into Cali, why would you want to anyway?, and you'll be fine -
If you run the northeast I think it's foolish not to have hazmat. There are decent loads there several times a week getting out at a good rate. Not a fantastic rate but very good for the region.roshea Thanks this.

More states then CA can inspect the trucks. The bigger question is why put urself a more of a risk? When you start removing parts from a truck thats when u bring more attention to ur truck.roshea Thanks this. -
For the past three years I have left the northeast maybe three times, and then only to OH or IN and right back. Almost all other load are to NY NY CT MA and less than a handful into the remainder of New England. All my loads pay enough for me to deadhead home, and I frequently reload same day, or get load and go to deliver same day. I take a lot of time off by my choice but always plenty of work if i want it. Hazmat definitely a plus, as is willingness to tarp.
I am probably giving up one of my bread and butter customers because they just decided they want all loads fully tarped as of yesterday, and no increase in pay. The nature of the load makes it a real tarp shredder. I don't want to spend two hours padding dozens of sharp corners and protrusions on a load that will still have 90% of the tarp unsupported and getting whipped around, which tears off D-rings and causes tears after enough miles. That's just my choice, and I'm sure others that will take these loads will not be too happy when they find out what the load looks like. Some may just refuse to tarp and not worry about it since they won't worry about coming back again anyway.
