I'm sure you are right about the rack weighing more than the board. I prefer a rear bed model. Just seems to be more roomy feeling in the 100 to 120 inch range than the rear door models but I'm sure that's just a perception. Biggest reason for switching to a head ache rack is some of the plastic pipe and insulation and a/c joints don't want trailers with headboards. So far it has never been a problem for me but when I get heavier I don't want to leave out any potential freight. To date the few loads I wanted to pull that said no headboards I just called and told em what I have and they said no problem and give me the load anyway.

All large sleepers less than 132 inches will not have a rear door. And normally have the bed in the rear.

The turbo was replaced a few weeks ago in Las Cruces (lucky me), but #1-#5 injectors are are 12% while #6 was replaced 6 months ago. I feel there is a electrical problem and offered to track it down while cleaning and testing sensors. My boss doesn't understand how I could possibly know more than the 4 dealers that have looked at this engine. I still want to take a look and get with Rawse for a ECM download, but the other 5 injectors may be the weak link now. The engine has more power, but still doesn't run nor idle as smoothly as it once did. The truck gets the same fuel mileage at 65 as it does at 75.

This 4.5 mpg is taking away $20k+ of his money every year. He would be better off selling this truck and putting me into a nice glider kit. The fuel savngs would make his payments and would give him a new truck.

    I think I can fix it ;)

I think I have injector problems too. It might be me but I think when I put a bottle of howes in the tanks it runs smoother and gets better mpg. I'm in omaha now taking a restart I may call the cummins shop and see if they can test the injectors.

Had an agent call me and boohoo about a load that paid 1.27 on 900 miles that no one would take. After I said 2.27 a mile three times and he said no 1.27 three times. He hung up on me. But some scumbag will eventually take it....that is the answer to your rate question.
