Guess he would have to make a few more trips then. I would have told him there is a reason you are having a hard time getting it covered, the rate is half of what it should be.

 

I'm sure he knows why. And I kinda did tell him with the 2.27 comments to his 1.27. I don't have a clue why he would bid it that cheap and think he could move it other than its our slow season and someone would take it just to keep moving. I wouldn't even look out the window and see if my truck is still sitting in the driveway let alone start it and haul a load for that cheap.

 

When I get a price like that I always say ya that sounds good......who's paying for my fuel?

 

That should prompt a call to contractor relations.

 

don't take it personal. you see rates on the board that are all over the place. also keep in mind a good bit of these loads are not ones they bid on, the shipper sends them out with what they will pay, they send em out to every outfit with a flatbed. those are mainly the cbd(call before dispatch loads).

I just pass em by and move on to one that pays what I want.

I almost bet that had to be a fairly new agent.

 

Ya he called me this morning just got off the phone with him and apologized. I apologized for being sarcastic. He did say that's what he was sent. No harm no foul. Feel sorry for him for being stuck with it but sympathy doesn't pay the bills.

 

Maybe its because I'm learning more and better than before but my rates are going up and I'm staying loaded. Just my .O2

 

For fans ot the "Mom n Pop" truck stops, I had ta share this.
Stopped for dinner today at the Ramblers Roost Truckstop, Middle Point, Oh this afternoon. I ended up ordering the breaded pork tenderloin dinner. Holy Crap!! There were two pieces on the plate, the small one is pictured. I'm sorry I didn't take my phone in to photo the whole dinner! Normally, food is just barely warm enough, I burned my tongue on the first bite of mashed potatoes!
$9.49 for the dinner, $11.99 total, coffee, dinner, n tax.
No fuel, but plenty of parking n Good, HOT food! View attachment 60940
