Bad Monkey, How do you go about getting a photo on your profile? I don't see an option under my profile edit.

Be sure to get internet either in your truck or on your phone. To many guys come to Mercer, thinking the dispatcher coodinator is going to take care of getting all your loads. Sometimes this works, but not normally. Not saying the coodinators ain't alot of help but don't just rely on them. It'll make or break you. Be logged into the load board before leaving the yard and know how to commit to loads from there.
    And you'll do fine.
Unless you see a load I'm waiting on, they just give it up. LOL.

I've been with Mercer for 7 days now. I'm very happy to be able to have the Mercer name on my door. I loaded monday from LKY to Panama City, FL. Reloaded 2 miles away for SLC, UT. Load on monday for California. My coordinator seems to be very nice and knows the lanes to run. I think he's really going to work out for me. I decided to go with a step deck since my truck is so light. (386 with 48" sleeper, ISM engine and super singles) I'm still able to gross 48k.

I live in Northern California but will run where the loads take me. I really am liking the freedom to do what you want, when you want to here at mercer. I previously worked for a small flatbed company and I do miss the small family atmosphere but everyone in LKY was very nice. Orientation was a little slow but I've been to worse orientations thats for sure. Hopefully mercer will be my home for years to come. If mercer doesn't work out, I'm not sure where to go next!?

Thanks to everyone who's posted on this thread. It helped a ton with answering my many questions I had when I started this whole process. Switching companies is not what I call fun...

Am I missing something here? I specifically set aside time this weekend to log onto the contractor web and see what it's like. However, I can't seem to figure out what my password would be. I've gone through all my paperwork, tried various passwords and still can't login. I'm assuming I must have to contact someone for the login/pass?

In orientation they really didn't talk much about the load board online other than that it's not designed to be used like the load board landstar drivers are used to. They said that the loads on our board don't meet our preferences and pretty much its useless to us. However, after reading several posts on here it seems like some of you guys do use the online load board and have been successful with finding good loads. Any idea why they don't talk much about it during orientation?

We use it just like the Landstar board and I don't know why he talks it down like that.
With the iPhone App for all my check, loaded & mt calls the only time I need to talk to my coordinator is if I want my card loaded.
When you're new they may try to micro manage you but my guy gave up quickly and just lets me do my own thing. It will be a year for me at the end of the month and I haven't been back to Louisville since orientation.
Everyone operates their own way here. :biggrin_25519:

You have to get a password from Contractor Relations.
