I'm guessing you get stop pay for more than one stop? I don't really have the convenience of calling recruiters, so I'm sorry if I'm asking "dumb" questions or repeated ones. Seems the same as always though, loads pay great going west, worse coming back east. I think in 4 years I had one load from Tooele, Utah paying $1800 going from SLC to Sterling, CO. Hazmat of course. Only weighed 8k too.

Oh yeah, but I sat for two days waiting on a load cause I had a step, and all they could find was Sheetrock or shingles that "had to" be able to be at least 48k. Not easy when you weigh 34k with a combo step.

Not any easier for me. I have a mercer great dane step and can only load 48k… I still manage to get into places where I'm to heavy or need ramps/levelers. Im going to go back to flatbed to be able load 50k+ again. Plus, in three months, I've only hauled one SD load, the rest have been FB loads.

I think I've been able to scale just under 51k once, that was with a 48' flat and a short hood Pete with under half tanks. Potlatch in Bemidji, Mn to Ankeny, Iowa. I know a flat would be great for versatility, or if you had those ramps/leveler for a step may help. I'd want all aluminum though, and I know that's spendy as hell. Does Mercer lease all aluminum, or mostly just combo?

48 k will be fine here, no need to worry with 50,000. I rarely do over 44k, with a flat and kris www.mercertown.com will help a lot

Sure like you and Spyder's answers, and sorry to bother you for one more:
I know Melton has an LP Program, any chance Mercer does?
Or do I have to buy a truck and then apply as an O/O with them to get accepted?
    Thanks again,

Good Morning all. I will be starting orientation on Wednesday May 7th. Can't wait to get going for Mercer. Hopefully I will see some of you there and put faces to the names. I really appreciate all of you answering my questions and helping me get ready to embark on this journey.
