Any of you mercer flatbedders run detroits? I want a cat for the power and all that, but the efficiency of a Detroit is calling my name also.

Folks, first I'd like to say, THANK YOU for all you info in helping my decision to come to Mercer! Yes, as many have said, and I'll say it too, I SHOULD HAVE MADE THE MOVE SOOOOOOONER! Everything you've said has been true and I'm one very grateful driver!

I would like to add this though. If you don't already have a dashcam, GET ONE asap!

This week I'm cruising on a local downtown city street, when a 4wheeler cuts in front of me, clips my bumper, calls the cops and blames it on me. Little did he know i caught it all on video! When the cops saw the video, they were outraged at what the driver did, plus trying to blame it on me. I'm not sure what they're charging him with, but its something along the line of 'reckless driving causing an accident'.

The cops loved the fact that I had it too. They told me stories of showing up to accident scenes where everyone tells a different tale and the damage doesn't match up with anyone's story.

With all these lawyer commercials for Big Truck accident claims, combined with high unemployment, lots of folks are looking to get paid!

My dash cam went out the other day. Now I'm running scared.
Hopefully Mercer store will warrenty it considering it's only couple years old.

I took the camera thing a step futher by putting sticker on the front stating "Your on camera" and you wouldn't beleive how this makes people drive differently around me.

Have any of you been refused access to a plant for having the dash cam? Exxon Mobil in Baytown,TX would not let me in with it.

 

Never been refused or even asked about the dashcam in over 4 years. Have turned it off in "sensitive" installations just in case anybody checked. There are some places you could get in deep **** for filming anything. Saved me when a truck backed in to me three times while I was inside having dinner. It was snowing and i didn't notice the damage until the next day since the hood was covered over. Other company denied involvement. Within 30 minutes of receiving the video the insurance department had a statement that they accepted responsibility for all damages and I had a check in about a week. Without it I'd have had nothing.
