Not yet for me and I was surprised when Red River didn't say anything about it. If they did, I guess I'd pull it down for them.

Well, I'm done with Orientation and will be leaving Louisville tomorrow. So far everything has been great. The drivers here have been friendly and the staff treat you like family.
i want to say thanks to all of you that have answered my questions.

one of the refineries there has a red tape strip they will put over your lens on your phone, they may work in that case. anyway to simply unplug the camera or unit in the truck??

one good thing about mercer, all that stuff is usually on the work order and u know upfront. and nearly all of them or that way, you even have to leave laptops and cellphones at the shack, along dogs wives and children.

Do you flat bedders ever have long wait times to get loaded or unloaded? I love Mercer and love the money I'm making pulling vans here. But I waste more time at docks and off the side of docks waiting than I do driving most weeks. And I hardly ever get paid for it. That fact never surfaces until after I have committed. I am seriously considering getting out of vans because of this bs. Everyone knows this is a major problem in our industry and IMO it's getting worse...

I rarely ever had to wait, the only place that I had to was that place in Harvey, IL. Sometimes it was worth it though, them loads usually paid good.

Flatbedding in general is less wait time loading and unloading and so much more curtious shippers and receivers. Totally different type of customers in flatbedding. But it can take awhile to strap and tarp a load. And most shippers only open 8am to 5pm Mon-Fri. So one needs to get unloaded in the morning to next shipper in time to reload.
It truely is a different world from dry van to flatbed.

I had a customer buy me lunch today. Didn't ask, just sent an extra order in with the crews, and it was waiting on me when I got there to get loaded. That never happened in all the years i did reefer.
