i have owned pete my whole life. i got 4.5 with mechanical motors. i got 7 with my 2000. you cant make money with a pos kw that needs a whole new wiring harness after 6 years and everything has a flipping computer so you cant work on anything. it gets 5mpg in an ugle aero truck because the wiring harness is so shot the engine fan wont turn off, has no blower motor up front, wipers that stop working whenever they feel like it, gauges that bounce all over and has power feeding back to every terminal in the fuse box. every kw i have ever been around is an electrical nightmare but usually not this bad.

My last company owned 379 would get 6.2 when I tried. 5.0 otherwise :biggrin_25525:

But back to talking about Mercer...

I thought Now that your Mercer, it's OK to highjack the mercer thread.

I average better than 7 with my 379. Must be driving to slow.

ya well he drives a crusty old columbia and cant make a profit for under $3/mi so take it with a grain of salt.

cats pretty much get the same mileage almost regardless of weight or speed.

I guess it's the same everywhere. Does mercer have enough work to keep all the new hires busy ? New guys coming on every week ? Do the heavy hitters that have been there for ever get anything more than the new hires?

I'm happy with what I do, just wondering. Good luck with your new deal!

Not sure there is any heavy hitters here. But the old dogs that have been here for years, do not get any preference. Everyone is on the same playing field, the same senorty.
Mercer has always had plenty of freight for everyone, but I wonder the same as I've heard they've taken on around 50-60 new O/O in the last couple of weeks. Which is close to 7 times more than normal. But I'm sure well all adjust.
