No loose leaf logs, you have to use the mercer printed logs they give you. But no elogs yet. They do give the eclipse log software for your laptop if you want it. Rob out.

I know no one wants it, but do they give the elog option?

Oh yes, they are very eager for volunteers for the elog. I don't know if they are still paying for part or all of it but you can ask them. Mercer did have a deadline of jan 1 2015, but I think they pushed that back. But I may be wrong.

They still pay for it, i was in orientation a few weeks ago. Im doing paper for now. I will switch over when the mandate takes effect.

Im real happy so far here. Three weeks in, im making good money and running how i like to. It is plain common sense to make money here. Dont rate chase, think ahead when you are booking a load. Its still early, but Im happy and thankful that I came over here.

About 10% or more of the fleet has adopted elogs so far. I'm an early adopter and don't see what the big deal is, never did. If you can't run legal and make money then you're doing something wrong. So nice to get pulled over for inspection on the rare time prepass doesn't give me a green light, then have the inspector see I have elogs and get told to keep on going. Has happened six times so far this year.

And yes, get it now for free, or when it's mandated and pay out of pocket every month. Won't matter who you're driving for then, if you are OTR you'll have some elog system. Mercer's HOS violations are way too high, and that doesn't come from the drivers running elogs.

Nice. I've ran the Qualcomm ones, they aren't bad at all. I don't see the issue. Keeps me more in check I guess haha.

These run on an Android or iOS platform on your phone or tablet. A few issues still being worked on but Jr Keller is responsive to driver input. Can drive 5.0 miles before it kicks into driving status. Originally that was 1.0 mile. They'll have people in Louisville tomorrow hanging out available to talk with drivers on issues & concerns.

The elog mandate has nothing to do with running legal for most of us. I run legal, not worth it to go outlaw. For me it is the fact that the government is forcing it on us. Im not concerned with "big brother" knowing my whereabouts. Its just that the government seems content to force regs on us at anytime on a whim. When the mandate is in effect, I will adopt it. I run a neat, accurate log book, why change.

Agreed. My logs are flawless. Always have. Even oregon has tried hard but failed to write me even a log warning.
I'm running "loose leafs" you can always take the staples off.:biggrin_25511:
