With additional 50-60 last two weeks, that would put them over 2100.
I wonder how many at LandStar?

When I was leased to Landstar they usually averaged between 8000-9000 trucks.
I just got 8631 when I added all of the active divisions together.

and all you trucks with them big houses suck up all the light freight. lol

when you were there that night i think there was like 8 trucks there with 120" sleepers. most were signing on.

i sure hope they have enough freight. hate to see those rapid growth spurts, usually causes problems. even though i was part of said growth spurt. i know schneoder has had a mass exodus to mercer the last few months too.

on another note i just tarped my firat load. friggin 8' drops suck. they are getting rolled back up amd getting put away for a very long time if i have anything to say about it

I seen those big houses signing on and I wonder how they got around the requirement to haul 45K to sign on? I know I seen one guy that had a sleeper that had to be atleast 144 if not 156. It made mine look small.
Did Mercer drop the 45K requirement?

i dont think so. heck i am real close to that 45k mark. i just dont think they enforce much of the requirements. i know i dont have all the required min. equipment and i am still 34k full of fuel. these great dane steps must be real heavy

i got a call Thursday from a recruiter and she said Mercer has more freight right now than they know what to do with. IDK forsure but she said its on the flatbed side. She told me I would average $2.20/mile running from around the house out a radius of 500 miles. I checked in with Mercer since I have been thinking about pulling a step but don't know if I want to get into it more than just a thought... Anyways she said they have dropped some requirments until they hire the number of o/o they are striving for. They even have a $2500 sign on bonus right now so I would say that has something to do with alot of the newcomers... You know recruiters...

i would say $2.20 average is a bit optomistic depending on where the house is at. can you make $:-[2.20? most definatly, i just dont think you will average it over the long term unless you sit cherry picking loads. thrn your average is up but your miles are cut in half. there is a fine line you have to ballence. then again you may just be in one of their hot spots. my recruiter never quoted me that high, she was pretty much right on for what i have been averaging. this run i am on now is bringing my average down but i didnt want to sit over the weekend again.

I'm not sure I beleive he heard the recruiter correctly. Unless he's running short runs around Louisville. Then one can't get the miles in. Reality, running 2500 miles a week, you should be able to average 1.75 mile here with pulling a flat. You won't get the miles pulling a step but will get little more per mile, not as much gross.
I'm a little surprised, so many new steps here when I think there is so much less step freight.
