Uh oh, KSGunny, you cant come on the mercer thread and say that LS drivers avg a certain $ per mile because it will be unbelievable to all who read......
But, seriously either company you can do well. If this is his first truck/trailer I would suggest learning the curves first and then a year or two down the road purchase a trailer....

I'm guessing you are talking about the pipe spools, they should (better) be load rated, there should be a sticker on the trailer that shows what the load ratings are.Pound Puppy Thanks this.

that's because there are guys at mercer that left LS!!
-
Greed has gotten my stuck again. I'm stuck in grand junction, co. Thought something better would come out and missed the load going to Miami. Good thing is I went ahead and got my monthly visit to the shop out of the way
whoopNride Thanks this. -
What about west coast, do they get out there much? That is where I am based out of. Would like to lease on to them but not sure if it would be possible to get home more than once a month.

Payday was fast today. Scanned paper work, ate breakfast, walked back to truck and bingo!

its called hijacking threads or simply a lack of common courtesy. this is a mercer transportation thread, you don't see any of us jacking our jaws on a landstar thread do you??
as well known its comparing apples to oranges, we don't have to pay ifta, we don't have to carry occupational ins., and several other assorted fees. I get paid within a few hours of delivery, I don't wait a week.
its not hard to understand really, but Oscar brings up a good point, wonder why folks leave landstar and come here.
and ks gunny I think the guy may have thought you were bsgunny and would believe anything.Bigdubber, KSGunny and Flightline Thank this. -

ok folks... i'm here trying to make an informed decision as to where to go... i (like any parent) don't want want to cause harm to my sons.... they are using me as a test subject... i have done my time and thought i was out... but they just keep dragging me back in.... 2.5 million miles for the same contractor and learned the in and out the business .... Not just how to drive... we are staring with new for the sole purpose of having warranties, and equipment in excellent condition... the plan is $.10 a mile in maintenance account and also $.10 a mile in the OH #### account in addition to the other expenses... going with a new glider truck geared fast and driving slow....(old school) ... i just don't want anyone to think i'm wasting their time on my questions.... if they ever get back to use on the projected cost of the truck i'll get serious about where to lease.... sorry for the rant..
