hey skateboardman: what's better a 48' flatbed or the 53' ... played with public load board and didn;t take long to see more loads for flatbeds than step deck... NEED INPUT (just like Johnny 5)
-
I would just go with the 48.
one thing to consider with mercer , you would have the help of a coordinator, and at landstar you would not. not a knock on them but the learning curve of picking your owns loads can be some people undoing. -
the thread got hijacked, its simple and bitter cant be really conveyed on this forum, I would be banned quickly

The milatary loads are sure getting bad.
I've only been here at Ft.Bragg 14 hours and still waiting to get unloaded.
Guess I should take the extra time into account when bidding the next milatary load. -
I hauled a couple HETS, up to fort McCoy last summer and unloaded them both myself. When I checked in I just told them I am an army truck driver and can drive it. Saves lots of time. The ASV's are the tough ones cause I'm not a tanker haha.

Ive yet to see any decent rates on military loads for f or sd. Ive seen some rgn loads paying big.
KSGunny, the coordinators here are a good tool to use. Once mine saw I knew what I was doing, he just lets me do my own thing. Only calls if he sees something I cant. A lot of times the agent in the area Im delivering to will call me and offer loads. Its a great system imo.Battle Born and Bigdubber Thank this. -
Make sure you work on that detention pay sometimes it's hard to get but they will pay
-
Actaully I got $2.78 a mile from Ky to Ft. Bragg. I didn't think that was bad on a toyota pickup
End up getting over 8 mpg hauling it.
Now off to South Dakota. -
Never been able to get detention pay out of the Milatary.
