Anyone else find the deadhead miles on the loadboard to be considerably off? The load I commited to for Monday is 90 miles further that actual air miles.
Which I was reaching with a 390 to start with when it come up as a match.
Should I complain or just eat it as a learning curve? Will it do any good to complain? -
I've noticed the loaded miles are off too.

Skateboardman when will u be in Richmond ? I live here , I have been following you guys for mercer for a while I was curious do you recommend a newbie to flatbed to go work for TMC for 6 months or is it possible to get on with mercer with no flatbed experience ? My background 14 years running doubles for FedEx Freight . What's a good fuel efficient tractor for flat bed? I am leaning towards a used Volvo 670 since I have years of company experience with the Volvo product. Thanks

it may be Tuesday and definitely Wednesday, depends on the first two stops on Monday. with 14 years, I would do mercer flatbed class and go for it. common sense really, a fellow pulling doubles for 14 years knows how to not get himself in a crack he cant get out of.

the deadhead miles I have found are based on apparently on air miles and tend to run 10 to 15 per cent off. the loaded miles will depend on who figures the miles the agent or the customer.
what I do is run the miles on streets and strips before I commit to a load if the time is there. but most of the time the loaded miles are fairly close. if not I don't take the load.
but yeah flightline I have questioned the dh mile deal for a while now, where its really get wild is if youre in michgan and see a load in Wisconsin, the dh miles are figured straight across the lake.Bigdubber Thanks this.
