I called carb today about this since next week I pick up my new totally non smartway truck. The lady said that this rule only pertains to trucks that pull 53ft dry vans and reefers. If you pull a flat, curtain, tanker or even a 48ft reefer, you don't need a smartway approved truck. Still a really insane rule but thankfully I don't have to comply!!!

That's awesome to hear Kona. That really would have been a bad blow by California.

    And I...? What? Lol

You keep putting your finger on the wound..
Lol, we'd like more revenue for the extra hustle we now have to endure

This is just what I said on my last post.

I'm glad kona, I hope that truck will give you smiles for a very long time.

lucar, i didn't type that right.. stop by a camping world rv center , look at the potties they have for the pop up campers, or check out the inter web for port-ta potties. they even make home health care folding bed side toilets that use special bags for the waste.. it's a one use type of thing... use the bag, seal it up, and throw in the a dumpster .... works in an emergency... just saying ...:biggrin_25520:

Never ever eat Taco Bell for supper, then park in a place without proper facilities!

This is why all OTR drives should have a truck with a bathroom and shower. As one gets older, this becomes more important.

I wonder if large sleeper truck sales are on the rise because of ELD's coming into force?
