I called carb today about this since next week I pick up my new totally non smartway truck. The lady said that this rule only pertains to trucks that pull 53ft dry vans and reefers. If you pull a flat, curtain, tanker or even a 48ft reefer, you don't need a smartway approved truck. Still a really insane rule but thankfully I don't have to comply!!!

No because I drive day cabs and sleepers depending on what run we do, for example we run hazardous waste from Va to Tx I stay signed in like tonight went to NJ to get a chemical load back to Va use a day cab gonna sign off. I gonna keep saving hopefully I can step out in 2015 spring time .

lucar, i didn't type that right.. stop by a camping world rv center , look at the potties they have for the pop up campers, or check out the inter web for port-ta potties. they even make home health care folding bed side toilets that use special bags for the waste.. it's a one use type of thing... use the bag, seal it up, and throw in the a dumpster .... works in an emergency... just saying ...
