No, but i will try in the morning. Looked to be a late 80's version. very nice. I saw a few other drivers stop and take some pics. I saw the guy in it today, I think he is staying at the hotel I'm at, I should have went over and chatted at him but oh well.

Does anyone else browse the other sections on TTR and read just how miserable drivers are at all these other companies? It's amazing to read what these guy put up with. Sure makes it nice to be leased on here at Mercer. It's nice to finally have found a good place to call home.
I'm unloading in Altoona, IA in the morning then bouncing up to Green Bay to pick up the new truck! I'm so excited that I can't sleep This has been years in the making and it's finally coming true!Battle Born Thanks this. -
they cant give a po without an amount and the weekend folks are limited on approval. the tire would have been national account , while the rim probably wasn't. the t/a guy should have simply asked for mercers Michelin national account number and processed the order for tire and completed the transaction on Monday. no po or amount needed. the rim should have done under mercers acct with t/a, an amount given and the po issued.
the road call, mount and unmounts should be under national account price.
the 1700 you were quoted was full price, Monday morning you had better get on phone with IMPACT and make sure the t/a in calif. does the deal right.
when I got mine sat evening, I called mercer, the t/a guy took mercers acctount number and issued the order and will complete it on Monday, done deal in 15 minutes.
and as far as them being unprofessional, they simply gave it to you straight. the longer you are here and depending on how you conduct yourself, deliver on time and deal with coordinators and customers, you will build up availability for more "loan" money. that comes with longevity. nothing was meant by you being a new guy, it was simply meant you hadn't been here long enough to have much available was she was saying, but still in the end they came across.
and when you do get tires on the national account you don't have to have them deducted from you settlement, when mercer gets the final cost after mounting you can give the mercer impact office your credit card and pay the amount and be done with it.
and another note , when everyone leases on they give you two blue 3 ring binders, one is for your permits etc. the other everything else about mercer, how to get tire discounts, what weekend op hours , and on and on, I think perhaps reading it cover to cover might be helpful . it will help you avoid situations like this in the future.
and I would bet the t/a guy was full of crap about them specifying a white wheel. since they didn't even know how to process a national tire on the weekend. the t/a in wheeling ,wv had no problem. my tire wasn't an emergency , I just decided to kill time last night by getting 2 new steers put while I was on break. now at the t/a in west Greenwich, rhode island in a reserved parking spot no less.
and if this occurred after 2:30 pm eastern, the "person" you were talking to was at home on call, not in the office. I believe her name was "Jessie" she handled things well for me. as I say your problem I think was caused by a bozo at t/a, not the "person" at mercer. if the person at mercer said they didn't order a steel wheel I am sure they didn't .
you know the other day I saw a guy at the yard with super singles, he had the novel idea of having a spare mounted under his trailer, might be a thought for ya super single guys.Bigdaddy76 Thanks this. -

What I typed in the long (I blew a tire) is how things happenned.
I even held some things on, but thank you for steering me clear.
This is not the first time I use mercer's money nor second nor 3rd. And I paid them the same week within a day or 2 after I've been "loaned"
The tire change was $1917.XX which I understand how it happened that the person was not able to get it approved, it wasn't his/her call to make.
Of course I was approved and of course I will pay mercer tomorrow as soon as I call mpac to set this bill straight.
T/A was very helpful as to waiving 3 hours of work/sitting and comfirmed with their paperwork which I was shown the "misunderstanding" of the steel rim being approved/or requested by mercer person.
Now I'm stuck with it.
I will call great dane and check about that spare tire under carriage, I've heard from t/a guy mesilla valley carries spares under their trailers with a winding mechanism like on pick ups. It is a great idea.
I'm not mad just disappointed at how I was treated. I've read the blue book maybe more recently than you have. As I am new and have much to learn I gotta make sure to cover all my basics. I am here to succeed, not to slack around or have others take me by the hand.
I thank you again for your clearifying, maybe since I'm an o/o I should had either bought the tire/rim at full price or sat until monday so as not to call and bother anybody at the company on their days off. I'll keep this in mind.
