Hi guys, I found a rig I wanted to get your opinion on. Its a 2001 9400 12.7 at 500hp with 650k on overhaul. 13sp rebuilt 250k ago, 3.58 rears with the front rear rebuilt about the same time as the tranny, new tires on the drives, needs steer tires. 1.4 million miles on the chassis. Very good paint and body except for the right headlight area. Needs a few minor things. 1 like I said hood is damaged, ac not working, fan clutch needs rebuilt (slips), interior in fair condition, needs a few dash and door panels and maybe carpet. Service records for 10 years. Lots of new parts. He is asking 17k for it, I have not talked to him yet but I did drive it. Heres the problem, it is exactly what I have been , looking for and I feel its alittle high. I would appreciate any comments. Heres some pics. Thanks guys. 20140820_104537.jpg 20140820_104548.jpg 20140820_104527.jpg 20140820_104607.jpg 20140820_104656.jpg 20140820_104557.jpg 20140820_104646.jpg 20140820_104715.jpg

I think it's price is close. I've got the same drivetrain. Needs steers and find out why it's eating the steers. Kingpins, alignment, shocks. ..etc. I think couple g off would be right price.

Thanks, thats kinda what I was thinking. It did feel nice to drive a 12.7 detroit again, although it did feel weird waiting on the turbo lag. I,m used to my isx which comes on a lot faster.

It's hard to beat a 12.7 non-egr. That truck looks pretty good. I agree he should come down on the price because it sounds like it needs a few thousand in repairs. Heck, offer him $9000 and see what happens. It is high miles so he ought to be willing to deal.

I,ll see. It's exactly what i've been looking for. The right engine, tranny, gearing and that glorious large sleeper. Good lord, there is so much room in that thing. I have the 51" version now.Which makes worried that I'm not looking at it with open eyes. Plus the fact its in iowa I and any mechanics I trust are in northern Indiana. It rode and drove good though. I'll sleep on it and see how I feel about tomorrow.

Those loads always pay well but some of the stops can be a real P.I.A. and take up to half a day waiting around. Still, they always pay enough to cover that.
