So if someone dead heads into your area from another place and they been looking longer it knocks you back down and puts them on top?

What kind of radius do they look for? 100mile 200mile 300mile????

They can look as far out as they want. After a few days a guy starts looking further and they do not have to deadhead. If the load orginated west of Dallas (Like La, CA.) can take a load to Elpaso, He stays the same position on list from first unloaded in LA. Now run the miles from LA to El Paso.
Guess I could run to LA from here and maintain my position but I do not go to Calif. (Old 99 Pete)

As I understand it a guy can run the "West Coast Board" as long as he wants and not lose his place on the Main Board...
Does that West Coast Board extend all the way to West Texas?

I'm seeing good things about Mercer.

Planning to team with my dad (currently with Mercer) for a while to get some OTR experience with him as my trainer.

I think it did for the most part, I got lucky late yesterday afternoon, got a easy oversize load that picked up this morning and delivered today. Paid just shy of $1400 on 173 miles, but here I sit in Des Moines looking at the same trash loads I been looking at since Friday of last week. And if you believe all of the doom and gloom that is supposed to happen at the end of the year, its only going to get worse. Maybe I should sell out while the gettin is good.

if ya go to el paso, thats what gonna happen. just a bad area. and if a guy leased to mercer and lived in el paso , it wasnt a good match.

the 11 western states dont include texas, you cant bounce around texas and stay on the western board.

and i have solved having to quit because of bad areas, i dont take loads there . unless it paid well enough to where i was prepared to bounce out to somewhere else.

if ya end up in bad areas, remember who picked that load that got you there. thats right , the guy you look at in the mirror.

actually you are slightly wrong and so is flightline. the western board extends just far enought into west tx to include elpasso. anything out of el passo is not so they arent bouncing around dallas like hes saying either. i just did the class and i still have the map in my stack of paperwork that shows it.

and i do think the elction has things messed up. my lpad to ca cancelles just as i was about to head out to load it this morning and i have been sitting here in lodi oh refusing these short lil loads all day long that dont deliver untill monday. i need more then $1100 by monday or i may as well just sit. there was a few decent loads today i tried to commit to but lost them all. a few of them disappeared only to show right back up with monday ship dates instead of friday

its kind of like a line down from eastern edge of new mexico. it takes in the bit of texas under new mexico.

but either way , end up in el paso and you are screwed.
