Apprantly VA. wanted to show you what they think of Driver appreciation week.

Now Mercer will want you to go through your inspection early

I've heard, if you get an out of service ticket, you go on 3 month inspections for a year. I hope that was just a bad rumor. I know that would suck and you don't deserve it.

Do you have a bestpass transponder? Not sure if it'd matter.

they didn't say anything about it, the inspectors were bozo the clown, its extremely odd all four trailer brakes were measured exactly the same.

you should have seen the big guy trying to get under the truck and trailer.

when I got under there I could find nowhere they had marked anything to measure. he supposedly marked all four , then I had to hold brake forever while he "checked" all four the other guy at the truck had me #### press the pedal as hard as I could.

theres just no way all 4 slack adjusters were screwed up. I mean I had a LOUISVILLE inspection 3 weeks ago

Sounds like they're in bad need of money.. I can't believe these are the kind of law enforcement we have to abide to.
I recall I huge problem I had like that with an agricultural officer in texas a few years ago, thr big boy was checking my trailer "for fire ants" since I was carrying palm trees out of FL. couldn't find a thing (supposedly) got out and called his buddy "mr. Bad ####" dot inspector to tell him my brakes were out of adjustment. ... um uh.. what?!

there was no ticket or fine associated with this. it was like they were training some of the city cops on what to look for. they really thought my securement was top notch, but they thought with a 5/16 chain and a combo 5/16 3/8 binder that the weakest link was the binder at 7400 pounds. as I said they were clueless, the guy didn't even know how many hours I had left to drive for the day, I showed him the recap and he said " ok youre good"

    Lucar Thanks this.

Ashame it's become about the money and to think they were training others that way.

I wish we had a way of reporting bad inspectors.
I also had a runin with Florida patrol a few years back.

well , had the mercer inspection today. it was clean, no problems at all, and the brakes were all in adjustment, I haven't touched them since the inspection.

they said they could see no signs of where I had adjusted them, all the dirt was still in place, lol. so they waived the getting inspected every three months and may not even assess me any points on the mercer system.

csa may be another thing, lol. but at least the folks here backed me up,, they even said I got hosed

you are roughed in with a position number by expected unload time, when you select a laod, the others ahead are given a call to see if they want it or not. they got 8 minutes to respond, if no one ahead of u selects it, its yours.

its easy to work I am usually booked 3 loads ahead on average.
