well its worked out well for me so far. i have run well this year, as i did last year. i work the load board like i am down to my last 10 dollars. what kind of revenue do you guys need a week ? my lowest month was sept i did 12,500 but i only worked 15 days in sept, lowest month other than that was 16,000 and highest was was 23,000. i been doing my 2000 mile weeks every week.

are you guys looking for more or less than a 4,000 a week avg.??

Those are not normal numbers here at Mercer. Not that I'm not very happy here, but I know that most of us are not doing that well here. So please explain why you think, you do so much better than the average here?

I'll be the first to say I need to make $1,000 a day (the truck is on the road) out of that it cost me $500 so I pay myself 25% of what the truck makes and I end up making $1,000 or so a week yes that pays all my bills but the company at the end of the year makes no frofit last year after taxes the company made $14,000 I as a driver made $47,000

Those are some really good numbers !!

Im not that close at all, but I try to do as you do and work less and make more revenue instead of turning more miles. My best month was June @ $32,000 and my worst was October because I worked 8 days and only made $5,000

Yeah I would have to agree there.. His low of 12500 is around my average. I don't know maybe I am too picky about what I haul or where I go.. I am lucky if I am out 20 days a month too.. My wife is way prettier then my truck so I think I will stay married to her..

    horsecrazychic22 and SHC Thank this.

that is too the truck.. I am on pace to hit 150,000.00 gross this year. But that also includes the fact that the truck was off the road all of march and half of october. I am sure I could run harder but the truck, trailer and equipment is paid for. My personal vehicles are paid for, no credit cards. small house payment, insurance and basic utilities..

i dont know how to answer, but i do run a flat. dont know if that is a large difference. i am out on avg 3 weeks then off for three days and back out. if i get a load thru home and stay there for a day, i start the 3 week deal over.

i changed my tag to the 37 state fleet to rid myself of temptation of the west coast. and i try to run the midwest and no further than houston, i also will run the new jersey m pa , and even nyc , i have gotten some killer loads into nyc.

while i prefer not to tarp, i will drag em out anytime i need to to keep moving. i work the load board constantly, maybe the deal is my wife homeschools my 15 year old and she is working the load board whenever i dont have one booked ahead.

whenever possible i will look to see how much freight is on the load board in area i am looking to book a load, if its dead i look for something else.

i often get loads that pay really well that i guess because of tarps, etc many others turn down. i try to book 3 to 4 loads ahead whenever i can. the second i get dispatched on one i am looking for the next one.

i guess i constantly like i got 10 dollars left in my pocket and the rent is 3 days late.

i left home last wednesday and loaded to fort campbell,ky, then to shreveport, then to philadelphia for tuesday morning. it will be 2450 miles loaded and empty with 4815 to the truck revenue, none of it tarped, the first load was 15,000 , the second was 12,000 and this last one is 43,500 of roofing with one pallet of hazmat adhesive on it.

so you guys are saying that isnt normal? i thought it was since the fleet avg is 1.70 to 1.73 a mile .

and as far as the wife, we raised 5 kids the last one is 15, her dad was a owner /op. if i stay home over two days she thinks i am getting lazy.

as far as full weeks , i have taken off 8 weeks total this year for sons hs grad, army boot camp grad, airborne grad, step dads funeral, a roof repair on my house etc.

my goal is a minimum of 4 grand gross a week to the truck
