Wide Load, you did good. I've done the same and Mercer backs me up on it. Though usually I get more money but nice you got the truck not used fee and still got another load.
We're all glad to hear a bad customer didn't get to push an O/O around. Maybe next time, he'll get his numbers in a row before ordering a truck.

personally i think the agent is as bad as the customer. when i came off it they reposted the.load at the new width but it was still listed 6' high and 10k. lbs. i told my cordinator that and that the agent is full of "it" later that day i then saw it listed at 10' high but still 10k lbs.
i guess as long as the hight and width are right at least the guy will know if he has the equipment to secure it. everyone has said to use chains but its a no chain item -
Was that a Calif. load? I know out there, it's like a different world of Mercer.
Also Buffalo, New York agent tries to pull fast ones like that. I stay away from both of those. -
Kinda had the same thing from another agent.. Hauled a load out of wisconsin (not for a wisconsin agent but going to the agents area) Go to pick up the load (4 metal crates filled with scrap steel 8000# no tarp 2.26 mi) and the shipper said we normally put these in vans but I guess this will work. after i deliver it I grab another load from the same agent (refractory products 10,000# tarp 2.48 mi) I get there and the shipper says you got a van?.. I said no a flat and he is like wtf and shows me the BOL and it clearly said Van LTL.. Then he says well as long as your here I guess it does not matter just tarp it.. Coincidence I think not.. More like things are tight and agent need to move some freight lets roll the dice and hope they will load em.. If that is the case I don't like my truck being used as the dice..

Look at the bright side. You got a high dollar Van load. Latley there has been some van loads pays as good or better than flat.
And if they wouldn't of loaded you, the agent would've had to pay you truck not used fee of $150. -
Which agent was it? SIS, DSD, or ATO? I put together three LTL's out there last time I was in CA, 1 was from DSD, and the other 2 where from SIS, SIS lied about load times, and DSD said after I loaded that it was supposed to tarp, he put an extra $50 on the load for it to be tarped. It was 3 old rusty, greasy worn out train wheels, I said the hell with tarping this crap, the customer in Chicago said he would have given me a hard time had I brought them in tarped. SIS office are a bunch of no good used car salesman, in my opinion.

im not going to say who it was. but the load i got out was SIS, havent had any problems with them so far.
