So this weekend i complete my second month at Mercer. Earlier today I was going over my numbers as I was going to post them here. But after putting my numbers together I got a little curious as to how I was stacking up against John Doe at Mercer. I had figured I would probably be somewhere in the middle as I am still learning the Mercer way and for a guy like me there is a lot to still learn. Anyway I learned a thing or two.

First, Mercer uses the last 90 days to (for lack of a better word) rank their drivers. As I have only been here about 60 days I was told that most of the other 1390 ish drivers I was being ranked against had about 30 days more revenue to report then I did. I think "Great! My hopes of being mid pack are out the window". Anyway to make a long story short. I was given my exact ranking and I think everyone was a bit surprised. It turns out I'm not low man on the board like I thought. Nor am I just mid pack. I was ranked safely in the top 300 even with 30 days less revenue to report.

This realization has me doing a little thinking. For starters I believe that reading this thread and the other Mercer threads from post #1 to the end has benefitted me greatly. With that I need to thank all of you for sharing your successes and your failures. I have decided not to post my figures this month as it now appears my figures are not really average and I'm not sure that they are realistic for everyone at this time.

I am curious how I got ranked so high. In the last 60 days I took a week off for my sons Bday, a week in Vegas and a week shutdown waiting for my plates to catch up to me. This is only the second or third weekend since I started that I've had to drive. Is everyone else taking more time off then that?

i think I'll go read the "why do some fail at Mercer" thread again cause I'm not sure I get it. But I do want to thank you all again.

Lol. I can see it now. Monday morning 60 drivers will be calling in to find out and I'll be on someone's short list.

i don't know if that 1390 number is all drivers at Mercer or flatbedders. I would think it was all as I was told that the top 10 are normally Heavy Haulers.

Makes sense, I'm a member of rate per mile masters, I've seen loads that pay $400,000 that they call cheap I guess considering how much the equipment costs but I can see heavy haul being big earners

I am not a Mercer driver, but I love reading this thread, and have for some time. I've read every page at least twice. I feel like I know a bunch of you guys just from reading so many of your posts.

With that said, Skateboardman, you have earned my total respect, as I can tell you are a straight shooter and you know your business. I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. God bless you and your family during this tough time.
