Ok everyone at the truck show, just stay right there for another 3 weeks. Have cookouts, polish your equipment, and tell knee slapping stories so that I can stay busy until I start working ground for planting. Got it? Good. Thank you

Thanks again for those chains Juggalo, I may end up needing them before the season is done this time. I have a load headed to MN, then after looking at the board on the other end, it wouldn't surprise me if I end up heading to the NW before I go home. I want to get by the house to pick up the rest of my creature comforts and tools, but I will suffer for a week or so if I have to, have to follow the money.

    Truckin Juggalo Thanks this.

What if I'm only going to the show by default? Tried to get out today, but I don't load 'til monday so I'm going to head over there and kill time tomorrow.

I agree, I paid my truck off making .90¢ a mile and paying about 4x as much for insurance. It can be done and shouldn't be too difficult here at all. I've even been kicking around the idea of buying a new truck now.

I have read this whole thread and the only thing that puzzles me is that when you guys book your own loads don't you have to wait to see if anyone else wants that load or is it automatically given to you?

you must not have read it closely, did you miss all the parts about using your board position, first in first out, knowing when your position gives you a better chance of getting a load, or when board position dictates taking a 4 foot tarp load cause you aint gonna get one of the cherry loads ??? come on now read it again.

start with page 1. but the quick answer to your question is this, yes if you are in position 10 , the 9 guys ahead of you have to pass on the load before you get it, but its depends on where the load is going , etc. for example if the load is going into the northeast, at # 10 I could almost gurantee I will get it.

but again all that is contained in this thread, on one page of this thread is a secret word that entitles you to a free dinner of your choice, read all 600 some odd pages, find that word and I will buy you dinner.
