Depending where you live there is a lot of work in setting up an LLC and deciding which type of LLC you want at least it was for me because my son was a partner but this also allowed me to set up my business out of Oklahoma where he lives which does not have a personal property tax on my truck my advice is find a CPA and lawyer who works with trucking companies and get professional advice I did if you want more of this info PM me

I don't know what state he was looking at I am looking 200 mile radius from where I sit i see loads listed from a $1.67 to $2.52 a load but I will agree all most all are under a 1000 miles guess you run how the money runs or go broke

Corporation or LLC, neither protects your assets if negligence is determined on your part. There is a degree of protection from many types of legal action but it is not absolute. Use your CPA for accounting and tax advice and an attorney for legal. Corp and LLC are legal entities as defined by the state they are formed in, and each state provides varying degrees of protections for them, particularly in the case of LLCs which are still a relatively new concept and not as well understood as corporations which until recently were the standard business entity.

I was just noticing if a load paid over 2/mile it was 250 miles or less. Fuel prices are effecting the rates but when you tie your rates to the fsc it makes it worse. I know there's better loads for ya'll but it's just depressing to see it.

As a new owner op Mercer says they are a good fit n can help me. I like the way that guy let's his funds build up to $3000 then doesn't take it anymore. I don't have plans to setup a reserve with Mercer. I wanna have it go to my buessiness account. I plan to pay myself like 500-600 A week if that. We get free rent cuz of wife's work. So that helps a lot.

My situation is different than most my son is a copartner in the business finance only I get a third of all the loads as guaranteed payment which should put me about what I was making as a company driver so two thirds of all revenue stays in the company accounts we also have agreed to add 600 a piece to the company each month hoping to pay off truck and trailer in three years with this plan I did get a used Mercer trailer with only 23 payments left also like you my house is paid for so I don't have a mortgage/rent helps a lot
