I've been able to Avg $2.02 a mile this year all miles but what's killing me is trying to run so that I'm close to home (Knoxville) everything is too heavy for my step and the rates are low, i got 3 birthdays back to back soon as that's over I'm headed straight back to Cali to put some money back into the bank. i got a birthday this Friday he's turning 11, then my wife May 10'th but might push that to memorial day gonna buy her the new bed she's been talking about it goes on sale at rooms to go on memorial weekend lol sucky part is soon as I push her birthday back she'll know, she always knows lol kinda kills the surprise, but she'll be happy that's what counts

I would guess most o/o companies would pass on you when someone standing in line to take your place. Good thing you didn't buy the truck yet. Good luck hopefully OOIDA will have some info.

Well after spending my first 3 months bouncing basicly back and forth from west to east coast. I came out this month determined to work east of I35. I came out with a bang, booked until next Monday within 72 hrs of lhitting the road. All paying well. All to good to be true. Of course a load in the middle ended up canceling, small wrench in the plan but quickly remedied. Anyway, since the cancelation I've had to pay a little more attention to the boards since the end of last week. I've booked 3 loads so far and they have all paid between 2.08 and 4.75 a mile (don't get to excited, the 4.75 is only on 260ish miles but it's also just the one day). The point I'm making is the good loads are still being posted. They just don't sit on the board long. You have to work the boards. The 3 loads I got I also missed 3-4 loads because I wanted to make sure I could A) make the pickup ontime from wherever I was delivering. B) have the hours to make the delivery. When these good loads post u need to think fast. You also need to be careful. I'm still wondering about the guy that swooped up the $6600 Laredo load today. Not sure it lasted 5 mins on the board. I wonder if he realized it had 4-5 stops on it and lasted like 11 days. If so good for him. But for me that is a little more than half what I'd expect to make in that amount of time. Take in the expensive fuel states that he had to go through and it might be half. Not that there is anything wrong with that. And if one of you grabbed that load I mean no disrespect. That load just wasn't for me. Point I'm making is if you expect to find a load for today that pays well. There is a good chance someone took it yesterday. Be diligent, it pays off.
