I always loved the old IH cabovers. I owned an early '74 low cab 4070A, two '79 4070B's, a '94 9700 high rise double bunk, and driven many more from a first gen CO4000 before they were called Transtars, an Emeryville, a mid 80's 9670, not including three generations of IH hoods that I either owned or drove. That doesn't count the straight trucks, 1600, 1700, and S1950 series I have owned. Not to thrilled with the Prostars though. They seemed to be equal or just a small step above a Sterling/Ford.
Worse thing about the old 4070 models is after a few hours driving there wasn't enough room to slide the seat back so my legs could stretch, and also my hair would brush one end of the bunk while my toes touched the other when trying to sleep.

Hey got a question. I'm working my way to Louisville now. Gonna make it 2 day trip no rush lol. My clutch rattles a little. Is this just the bolt under the dash?

A note about grease and clutches. Use a hand pump. Not the air powered one's. Same with your scan bushings. And never ever let a truck stop gear your truck. They will always miss half the zerk fittings. And over grease the ones they find.TruckerPete1990 Thanks this. -

I remember my old Pete broke a piece of the clutch linkage at just under 2 million miles. Was just under a hundred bucks for the part. A week later I was in tractor supply and saw identical pieces for tractors. 10 bucks replaced the other linkage piece. I decided then that the dealer is the last resort from then on out.

There's a reason they are called stealerships.
