And why are the rates still so low?

Springtime freight is coming on strong, and rates are climbing. We're starting to see more of the seasonal trends we're used to, but freight rates from DAT RateView show that van rates (including fuel surcharge) on the spot market for February were down 5.1% compared to a year ago. As a national average, that equates to about a 10¢ difference per mile. Spot market rates were elevated throughout 2014 because of the Polar Vortex, but DAT RateView™ data shows that, if you take away the fuel surcharge, the average linehaul rate was actually 9¢ higher in February 2015 than the previous year.

If it's a carrier apu, look to the upper left of the engine. There is a fuse. Check it. There is also a breaker opposite end of flywheel. There is a red button. Other than that you have to look at the. Control board inside the ccu. It's on the pass side of the ccu. fwiw, the "service" light flashes while it's off.

I talked with a Mercer recruiter today and she said that flats are averaging $2.00 per mile, is that what you guys are seeing?

I know I'm not. There is a few loads that pay north of that going to a dead area but not enough. Flat loads out of denver I have seen as low as 1.10/mile, but don't worry I don't go there. But then I havent been able to develop the relationships with agents that others have because my people skills are not as good as I would like. And a bad coordinator does not help either, or should I say thay my CO always seems to be sick or otherwise occupied so there are days I have 4 different co's calling me. Very confusing Oscar. And yes I have asked for a new co, but they would not give me one. So what do I do?

Ditch your coordinator and tell them you want on KYLE SCHWEIGER's board. He only authorizes advances. You set your own preferences and do everything yourself. I don't even call him, just use the app to ask for fuel. Now you will be the only one to refuse yourself. He not allowed to call and offer you loads. I've been on that board for months and enjoy not having a coordinator.

Rates depend on where you want to run. Guys that only want long haul coast to coast generally won't see that. Midwest origin rates are in the 2.xx or higher for shorter runs. Loads to northeast seem good but lack of parking and/or deadhead out of there always an issue. I'm generally over 2.00 though and do a lot of work out of PA, NJ, NY area.

fact is, every now and again the agent calculates the rate wrong and as been said the shipper changes it. it happens from time to time. its part of life and not a conspiracy
