Well Pete, that's just how it is in trucking. In almost twenty years, I've never seen an appointment set by any time except local.

If its forklifts its fcfs. Call them and see when they will take you. They appreciate the heads up!

It happens. Always call ahead with forklifts. They are much easier to deal with when they are expecting you.

Do mondays seem slow on the Load board?
What are the MATCHED 1 and MATCHED 5 mean?

Mondays start slow. Matched 1- means your #1 for that area so you have your pick. #5 means there are 4 in front of you. But for all you know those four could be at home for the week. It just goes with the first empty first out theory.

Pete, you really should edit that post. Putting rates out on a public forum is a good way to have your customers under bid. the guys in Louisville might frown on it.

If you want to talk rates. Use major cities, not specific locations.

And yes, Monday mornings, suck. all the good loads were covered Friday. Only the scraps left over. By late morning, early afternoon New stuff will hit the board, though a lot of it won't load Till tomorrow. This is why you try to stay bored two or three loads days ahead.

In that same area look for flat loads. We told ya to get a flat. :)

pete, always make a precall to the customer. always. remember be proactive, leave nothing to chance, you have to look after yourself a bit more now, no one is holding your hand, we aint got no training wheels here, we will help all we can. but you got to go after it.
