    been reading ya's thread for the last couple days,wanting to ask a question,i parked my truck,canceled my authorty,bummed around the house for six months wife got on my nerves,got a company jobs hauling chickens now and i'm tired of sitting waiting on chicken to die.my question,would it be worth my time to sign on with ya'll and quit my 64,000 a year job here.P.S i drive for Tyson Foods

    You have a company driver job paying 64K and comparing to driving as O/O at Mercer, correct?
    You probably have all kinds of health benifits at Tyson, not to mention being home how often?
    Do You like where your at?

    80/20 ins with 2500.00 ded.home every 10-14 days,drive a 2013 660 k/w,but things are changing here.outside carriers getting more and more of our loads,leaving company drivers waiting on scraps.every 6 month we lose another benfit,and i figure in 4 or 5 years there wont be a company truck left and i miss my own truckin,im sick of reefers too

    I'd park my truck and drive for someone for $64,k a year and not live in a truck!!!

    I'll say this 50% of the gross is what it cost me to run 30% is what I pay my self leaving 20% and truck repairs eat that up rates are down all over so with that I became a O/O because I could make my decisions and be able to make twice what a company driver made after all my cost I don't make $128,k profit so think of it like that
