Before I started speaking on this thread, I read every post. Really had a hard time believing all the good I read. But I went around and talked to every driver I could find. And they all said about the same thing. If you read every post you will see a few unhappy drivers. It's well known that not every company is made for every person. I don't think Mercer is any different except for the fact that you will find a LOT of happy drivers here. And no, this isn't a recruiter thread. Just us drivers talking about our successes and failures. Helping each other out. And at times blowing off a little steam.

I've been talking to every Mercer driver I come across for about 6 months. 99% of them love it there. I talked to a couple former guys that didn't and one who didn't make it through the inspection and refused to fix the truck. Even those guys had a lot of good things to say even though it wasn't for them

I can't seem to find the quote..someone said you can get what you need at the Mercer store. They said what it costs and what they will finance? Anyone know

My truck is in the shop now. Plus there are some things I need to fix myself. So hopefully I'll pass inspection. At least all the obvious will pass. Brakes lights exhaust abs etc. New air lines and pig tail last month. Tires are 98% new in april. So fingers crossed

I do van here bam and this is my 3rd week? I wanna do Flat as it seems to work better here but vans can do good too. Some flats i have to talked to here basicly say it will balance out on pay as flats can do more deadhead then van's. BUT there is a lot more flat loads then vans Right now. From my understanding Mercer is still building up the Vans. In my 3 weeks here this is what i've learned. Watch where you go and if you have to sit to find a load do it. We have some loads on the site that will barly cover your truck cost and then you have good ones. Always look ahead and find what you want to keep you moving. I'm 2 loads planned out. The east coast loads (Pa and what not) They dont pay the best by the time u add in toll cost.. Portland OR seems to be a hit and miss area. If a load is paying really good better check that area like a load going out to SCL UT. could pay $2.10 a mile but you will more then likly be Deadheading 300-500 miles out and hauling cheap to get back to decent area. But i am doing a flatbed class soon as im thinkin of trading my van in for one as i wanna get back in shape and think i would do better on flats.
