Hmmm sounds good in theory, but I think my fuel tanks want me to count the DH miles too

Dude, if you don't think that's a good load in today's market then I don't know what to say. your expectations for today's economy are not in line with the reality of market conditions.

That's an easy fix. Unfortunately it's also a very time consuming fix. Definitely something you want to do yourself to save the labor rates on. but are you sure it's the heater core loading, and not the ac evaporator building up condensation?

So you're saying $1481.95 is bad for a 535 mile run? What would you consider good then? Not trying to join in this argument, just curious what you think it should be, in real world terms, I would love to see 5.00 a mile freight for my pocket, but I wouldn't wish those prices on my friends and family.

By the way, in my case I think that's a pretty good wage for one day's worth of work.

You only comprehend what you feel supports your argument! I didn't say it was bad. I simply pointed out that I can find loads that pay $2.77 also, but the details of the load are what counts. Like deadhead to the load, rates coming out, loads in the area, weight, tarp, OD or not, & length of haul! See I don't come on forums and say I make $xxx without backing it up with all the facts! I do see that you have not responded with your info on that $2.79/mile load. You make a lot of assumptions without the facts, like stating 20 guys ahead of you rejected a load, because of reasons you think, not factual reasons! Unless you called each person and confirmed why they rejected it, then you have no clue as to why!

So don't I depending on details! For that particular load it's ok!

No one I asked for any details so what was I supposed to respond to? If too look over my last several posts it plainly states approximately where I loaded at, what it weighs, that it was tarped and the general area where it was going to. I guess I could of posted the exact numbers of loaded miles, but anyone with a brain cell can guesstimate that. As for my empty miles, that doesn't matter for the purposes of this conversation. The customer isn't changing
the rate they are willing to pay if I unloaded next door, or across the state. As for the guys that passed on the load. Don't know why they did, not my business, and don't care why these did. The only thing I know is that the load matched to twenty guys and the All said no. It's possible a couple of them were at home and just didn't want to work, it's possible a couple were in the shop so they couldn't get it. but it's also likely that some passed on it cause they don't want to tarp. We all know there are plenty of guys that turn down good loads cause they simply refuse to tarp.

That's what I'm doing this weekend before I ever load the first load on the trailer. Save those tires!

Good to know when figuring out whether a rate is good or not, empty miles mean nothing!
Just a FYI, my brain cells are just fine!
